Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
The WaterJet Technology Association (WJTA) operates this learning management system ("Platform") to deliver training, certification, and compliance records for the waterjet and vacuum industries. Our contact address is support@wjta.org.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email address, job title, employer, hire date, and role when you or an administrator creates your account.
- Training records: course completions, assessment scores, field verification checklists, credential issuance, and expiration dates.
- Payment data: billing details processed through Stripe. WJTA does not store raw card numbers; Stripe handles PCI compliance.
- Usage data: page views, login events, and audit log entries generated by your actions in the Platform.
- Employer membership data: company name, membership status, and seat allocations provided by your employer or looked up against WJTA membership records.
3. How we use your information
- To deliver training courses and issue credentials.
- To maintain permanent, auditable training records on your behalf.
- To send renewal reminders before certifications expire.
- To generate employer and compliance reports for authorized staff.
- To process payments for course enrollment.
- To operate and improve the Platform.
4. Sharing and disclosure
WJTA does not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:
- Your employer:if you are enrolled through an employer account, that employer's administrators can see your training status and completions.
- Verified Trainers: trainers you work with on field verifications can see the verification records they sign.
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and our cloud hosting provider, under data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of individuals.
5. Data retention
Training records and credentials are retained indefinitely to support long-term compliance audits. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account closure, contact support@wjta.org; we will anonymize personal fields while preserving the training record for regulatory purposes.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@wjta.org. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Access is role-scoped so users can only see records appropriate to their role. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
